This compares two CSSs, Producthero and The CSS Partner, and what separates them is the price and what it counts, the terms, what a shopper meets after the click, and what else the company sells. Producthero is part of Channable, and I run The CSS Partner, so I am not neutral. Every fact about them has a source, I say where they are the better choice, and my own weak spots are in here too.
The two in short
Producthero and Channable. Producthero became part of Channable in 2025, and according to Channable, Producthero’s CSS is placed under Channable’s. Channable’s help centre describes the company as “a leading multichannel platform for eCommerce”, with “over 12,000 brands and 1,300 agencies worldwide.” Producthero’s pricing page says “Join 15,000+ advertisers and 900+ agencies.” Those are their own figures, they do not count the same thing, and I have not checked either.
The CSS Partner. A CSS run by Gezar in Aarhus, and I run it. You give us one Merchant Center ID, we send a request from our CSS, and an admin on your account approves it with one click. We connect to Merchant Center only and never get access to your Google Ads account.
Side by side
| Question | Producthero and Channable | The CSS Partner |
|---|---|---|
| Price and what is counted | Channable CSS Standard: €29 per shop per month, per standalone Merchant Center account or active subaccount in a Multi-Client Account (MCA), regardless of countries. Producthero’s price boxes: €29 per merchant | 20 € per shop per month on monthly billing, 16 € from 5 shops, excl. VAT. The annual plan and the Founders Offer on the pricing page are priced differently. One shop is one Merchant Center account, regardless of countries |
| Binding and cancelling | Channable’s Pricing FAQ: cancel any time, but before the 20th of the month to avoid the next month’s bill, and “we do not offer long-term contract discounts at this time.” Producthero: “You can cancel anytime, we do not work with a notice period”, but you must “let us know before the next billing date to avoid charges for the following period.” | No lock-in. Monthly billing can be cancelled any time. Annual billing is paid a year ahead, and you can stop the renewal. 60 days to get your money back, no questions asked |
| Setup fee | Channable’s Pricing FAQ: “no setup fees” | None |
| CSS Pro | €99 per shop per month. Channable’s pricing page lists Labelizer, Price Benchmark, Manual tagging and Products AI for Pro, on top of the three tools in Standard. Channable’s FAQ calls Pro “not yet in general availability” | I have no tier like it |
| Dynamic remarketing and surfaces beyond Search | Not stated in the pages I read. Ask | Our CSS is opted in: the Shopping tab, YouTube, Display and dynamic remarketing |
| Feed management | Channable lists Feed Management, Marketplaces and AI-powered PPC tools as modules “available upon subscription”. CSS Standard includes Title Optimizer, Labelizer Lite and Price Benchmark Lite | Not what we do. We are a CSS and nothing else: your product feed stays where it is, in your Merchant Center. |
What a shopper sees after the click has its own table further down.
Prices side by side
| Provider and plan | Price per month | What is counted | Source and date |
|---|---|---|---|
| Channable CSS Standard | €29 | Each standalone Merchant Center account or active subaccount in an MCA, regardless of countries | Channable’s help centre, CSS pricing, 1 Oct 2026 |
| Channable CSS Pro | €99 | The same unit | Channable’s help centre, CSS pricing, 1 Oct 2026 |
| Producthero, price boxes | €29 per merchant (“Google Premium CSS”), €99 (“CSS Pro Plan”) | Per merchant | Producthero’s pricing page, 1 Oct 2026 |
| Producthero, FAQ on the same page | €39 for the first shop, €19 per extra shop or country | First shop plus each extra shop or country | Producthero’s pricing page, 1 Oct 2026 |
| The CSS Partner | 20 € per shop per month on monthly billing, 16 € from 5 shops, excl. VAT. The annual plan and the Founders Offer on the pricing page are priced differently | One shop is one Merchant Center account | The CSS Partner’s price list and pricing page, 1 Oct 2026 |
These are list prices read on one date. Producthero’s page says two things: the price boxes read “New: €0 p/m per extra country”, while the FAQ on the same page says €19 per extra shop or country. I suspect the FAQ is outdated, but I have not confirmed it. Channable defines an inactive subaccount as one that has “not received any paid clicks in the last 30 days”, and I do not know how an account with no clicks is counted at either of us. Do not compare the numbers until you know how each provider counts your shops.
What a CSS changes
In EEA countries, Google’s own CSS deducts a margin from each bid before it enters the auction. Google confirms this and does not publish the size. Up to 20% is the figure the industry cites, not a figure from Google. At 20%, a bid of 1.00 would compete as 0.80, while a CSS that charges a fee competes with the full 1.00: up to 25% more bid power. It is not a promise about what a click costs you, and I have not measured the effect for any merchant. In principle the margin comes off the click price. But with the automated bidding most shops run, Google spends the extra bid power on winning more auctions, so I expect it to show up as more clicks rather than a lower click price.
This is the same mechanism at both of us. Channable writes “Channable CSS gives you a 20% margin advantage”, with the footnote that it “applies only to European Economic Area (EEA) countries.” So the margin is not what separates the two. The rest of this article is.
What a shopper sees after the click
The label under your ad (“By Google”, “By Gezar”) leads to a comparison page that carries your products and your name, so it is worth opening it for your own shop before you choose. I looked at the pages on the evening of 1 October 2026: 11 searches from Denmark, no login, looking at what you see without scrolling. Pages may have changed since 1 October. For Channable I used its Danish address. The link from Google’s own button opened a German version.
| Ads for other shops at the top | Reject button on the first layer | Language and currency on a Danish search | At least one irrelevant product among the first five | No results | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| The CSS Partner (“By Gezar”) | None | Yes | Danish text and Danish prices | 1 of 11 searches | 1 of 11 searches |
| Channable | Yes, in 10 of 11 searches | No. The choice is under “Manage preferences” then “Allow selection”, and the ad block still appeared (10 of 11) | Prices in euro in 11 of 11, text mostly English (9 of 11) | 5 of 11 searches | None |
| Producthero | Only while the cookie banner is unanswered (11 of 11 then, 0 of 11 after rejecting it) | Yes | Price filter in euro in 11 of 11, and prices in foreign currencies on 9 of 12 cards for “skraldespand” | 2 of 11 searches | None |
Read the Producthero line with care. The ad block only appeared while the banner was left unanswered, and I do not know what a real shopper does with the banner, so 11 of 11 is not what shoppers normally see.
My weak spots are in the table. For “robotstøvsuger” (robot vacuum) there were accessories and other products among the first five, and “hundefoder” (dog food) returned no results. I did not measure whether anyone earns money from the ad blocks, or whether shops lose clicks to them. It is a snapshot, pages change, and method and the other providers are in what shoppers see after clicking “By [CSS]”.
Who fits what
Producthero and Channable are the better choice if:
- You want one supplier, one login and one invoice, and Channable’s platform already carries other parts of your shop. That is something I cannot offer.
- You need feed management from the same vendor.
- You prefer a large vendor. Channable’s own figure is over 12,000 brands and 1,300 agencies.
- The optimisation tools in Standard or Pro cover something you need.
- You are happy with the price and the terms. Then there is nothing to solve.
The CSS Partner fits if:
- You want a price per shop, with a step to 16 € from 5 shops, no binding and 60 days to get your money back.
- The page your shoppers land on matters to you. In my 11 searches it showed no ads for other shops, and it was in Danish.
- You want to ask the person who runs it. Our page says a person answers, the same day, from Aarhus.
- You want a CSS and nothing else. That is all we describe.
What I do not know
- The unit. Channable counts each “active” Merchant Center account. We count each shop, meaning one Merchant Center account. I have not established that these are the same, and our pages do not say how a shop with no clicks is counted. Ask both of us in writing.
- VAT at Channable. Its pages do not say whether €29 includes VAT. Our price is excl. VAT.
- The effect on clicks. Not measured, for either of us.
- What the modules cost on top of the CSS. Channable’s pages do not say in the places I read.
- Dynamic remarketing and country coverage at Channable. Ask before you decide, whoever you pick.
- What a real shopper does with the cookie banner. My test cannot say.
About this article
I run The CSS Partner, so I am not neutral, and I am responsible for this article. It was written with help from AI and checked against the sources below, read on 1 October 2026. My own measurement is described in what shoppers see after clicking “By [CSS]”. Prices for The CSS Partner are on the pricing page, and how it works is on the how it works page.
