Slovakia is a euro Shopping market. The CSS saving applies on the same ads, the same placements and the same prices your customers already see.
Slovakia adopted the euro, its neighbour did not
Slovakia has used the euro since 2009. Czechia, next door and closely related, still prices in koruna.
That means a shop expanding across both borders needs one price list and two feeds, which is the opposite of what most people assume.
Slovak is a separate language from Czech, whatever people tell you
Czechs and Slovaks understand each other. Google Shopping does not understand anything: it matches the string in your title.
A Czech feed pointed at Slovakia will look correct to everyone who reads it and match a fraction of the queries it should.
What the margin costs here
At 1.000 € a month in Shopping spend, up to 200 € is taken before the auction. Up to a fifth of every bid, from industry experience and ours rather than a published figure.
Because Slovakia is a euro market, that is the entire commercial difference between running through Google and running through us.
The shop systems here, and how they reach Merchant Center
In Slovakia, many independent shops run on Shoptet, which describes itself as the most-used e-commerce platform in the country, or on Eshop-rychlo, which reports more than 7,000 shop customers. Both platforms generate a system XML feed that the merchant manually registers in Google Merchant Center as a scheduled fetch URL, rather than through an installed app or native account connection.
Frequently asked
Is Slovakia in the eurozone?
Yes, since 2009.
Can I reuse my Czech feed?
No. Mutual intelligibility is a property of people, not of string matching.
Which characters does Slovak use?
Slovak carries its own set of accents and háčky. Check they survive the export.
How big is the Slovak market?
Around 5.4 million people. It is small, and it is cheap to add for anyone already writing Czech, provided the titles are genuinely translated.
Does the euro make Slovakia easier than Czechia?
On the price list, yes. On the feed, no: the language work is the same size either way.
Do I need to touch my feed to make this work?
No. Whatever gets your catalogue into Merchant Center today keeps doing exactly that. A CSS sits one layer up: it changes who submits the bid, not how the feed gets there.
What if I want to leave after switching?
Cancel any time from your portal, with no minimum term and no exit fee. Inside the first 60 days you can also just ask for your money back, no explanation required.
Do I need a second feed just for this?
No. The same feed that already reaches Merchant Center is what a CSS submits from. One feed, one Merchant Center account, no duplicate setup.
Is my data shared with anyone new by switching?
No. A CSS only submits the ad your Merchant Center feed already builds; it does not see your website, your customers or any data beyond what Merchant Center already exposes to any authorised party.
Is there a limit on how many shops I can add?
No. Pricing is per shop with an automatic volume discount from five shops, calculated from your total. Adding more shops later just recalculates that total; it does not require a new agreement.
Who do I actually talk to if something needs fixing?
A real person on our side, not an anonymous ticket queue. Support, billing and cancellation are all handled from the same portal you use to add a shop.
Does the switch pause my ads while Google processes it?
No. Your ads keep running the entire time, under whichever CSS is currently submitting them, until the new one is confirmed. There is no gap in coverage.
Does this work if I already run Performance Max, not just standard Shopping?
Yes. The bid-power effect applies to the Shopping portion of a PMax campaign specifically; the rest of the campaign runs exactly as before, because the switch happens in Merchant Center, not inside the campaign itself.
