Castilian Spanish is the primary feed language for Shopping in Spain. Regional co-official languages exist, but they do not change how the CSS saving applies to your ads.
Castilian carries the catalogue
Spanish is the national language and the safe single choice for a feed. Catalan, Galician and Basque are co-official in their regions and are used in daily life there.
Start in Spanish, then look at your own search terms before deciding whether a second language earns its maintenance.
Latin American Spanish is not the same Spanish
A feed written for Mexico or Argentina uses different product words for ordinary things, and the differences cluster in exactly the nouns a shopper types.
If your Spanish content came from another market, have someone read the titles specifically. The descriptions matter far less.
What up to a fifth of the bid is worth
At 1.000 € a month in Shopping spend, up to 200 € is taken before the auction begins. Up to a fifth, based on industry experience and ours, not a figure Google publishes.
Spain is a euro market, so there is no price list to build. The work is the feed and nothing else.
The shop systems here, and how they reach Merchant Center
A 2026 study that identified the platform behind 54,651 Spanish online stores found WooCommerce used by roughly three-quarters of them, with PrestaShop and Shopify each present on a smaller number of stores that had, on average, higher monthly traffic. If you run your shop on WooCommerce, your product feed connects to Google Merchant Center through the official Google for WooCommerce plugin; PrestaShop stores use the official PrestaShop Marketing with Google module, and Shopify stores use the built-in Google and YouTube sales channel, all syncing catalog data to Merchant Center automatically.
Frequently asked
Which Spanish should the feed use?
European Spanish. A Latin American feed uses different product nouns, and nouns are what Shopping matches.
Do I need Catalan or Galician?
Not to start. Decide it from your own search term report once you are live.
Is Spain in the eurozone?
Yes.
How big is the Spanish market?
Around 48 million people. Online retail has grown quickly and is less saturated in several categories than Germany or France.
Does Spain need separate shipping settings?
The mainland, the Balearics and the Canaries are not the same delivery problem, and the Canaries sit outside the EU VAT area. Set shipping per region rather than one national rate.
Do I need to touch my feed to make this work?
No. Whatever gets your catalogue into Merchant Center today keeps doing exactly that. A CSS sits one layer up: it changes who submits the bid, not how the feed gets there.
What if I want to leave after switching?
Cancel any time from your portal, with no minimum term and no exit fee. Inside the first 60 days you can also just ask for your money back, no explanation required.
Do I need a second feed just for this?
No. The same feed that already reaches Merchant Center is what a CSS submits from. One feed, one Merchant Center account, no duplicate setup.
Does this work if I already run Performance Max, not just standard Shopping?
Yes. The bid-power effect applies to the Shopping portion of a PMax campaign specifically; the rest of the campaign runs exactly as before, because the switch happens in Merchant Center, not inside the campaign itself.
Is there a limit on how many shops I can add?
No. Pricing is per shop with an automatic volume discount from five shops, calculated from your total. Adding more shops later just recalculates that total; it does not require a new agreement.
Who do I actually talk to if something needs fixing?
A real person on our side, not an anonymous ticket queue. Support, billing and cancellation are all handled from the same portal you use to add a shop.
Does the switch pause my ads while Google processes it?
No. Your ads keep running the entire time, under whichever CSS is currently submitting them, until the new one is confirmed. There is no gap in coverage.
Is my data shared with anyone new by switching?
No. A CSS only submits the ad your Merchant Center feed already builds; it does not see your website, your customers or any data beyond what Merchant Center already exposes to any authorised party.
