Delayed, with no new date. On 5 September 2026 Google told us the expansion was delayed, live experiments were paused and the timetable was being revised. No replacement date was given, and Google's public CSS documentation still lists only the 21 established countries. We email you when Luxembourg is confirmed.

Luxembourg is a euro market in the first 2026 wave, with French and German dominating commerce. Prepare now so you start with The CSS Partner saving from day one.

Your competition is not inside the borders

Luxembourg has around 670,000 residents, and they routinely buy from Belgian, French and German shops without thinking of it as cross-border. A Shopping campaign aimed only at the country is competing against every neighbouring retailer anyway.

Treat Luxembourg as an extension of a campaign you already run in one of those markets rather than as a standalone build. The feed work is largely done; the targeting is what changes.

Countries (choose one or more)

These 15 markets are pending in our expansion watchlist; selecting one does not mean it is currently available.

Three languages, and only two of them sell

French, German and Luxembourgish are all official. Commerce runs mainly in French and German, and Luxembourgish is rare in product listings.

If you already sell in France or Germany, your existing feed covers most of this market. Choose the one your catalogue is already written in rather than translating a third time.

The shop systems here, and how they reach Merchant Center

The only full technology-detection ranking found for Luxembourg shows Shopify ahead of WooCommerce among named shop systems, with PrestaShop a distant third; no independent second source with a comparable, current ranking could be confirmed. Shopify connects to Google Merchant Center via its built-in Google and YouTube sales channel, WooCommerce via the official Google for WooCommerce plugin, and PrestaShop via its official Marketing with Google module.

Frequently asked

Is Luxembourg in the eurozone?

Yes, from the beginning.

Which language should the feed be in?

French is the safest single choice for commerce, with German a reasonable second. Luxembourgish is the national language but not where most retail search happens.

Why bother with a country of 670,000 people?

Because a large cross-border workforce commutes in daily from France, Belgium and Germany, and purchasing power per head is among the highest in the EU. The population figure understates the market.

Does switching CSS mean changing my product feed?

No. The switch only changes which authorised CSS submits the ad that Merchant Center already builds from your feed. However your catalogue reaches Merchant Center today, it keeps reaching it exactly the same way.

Is there a setup fee or a minimum contract?

No setup fee, and no lock-in: cancel from your portal whenever you like. You also have 60 days after going live to change your mind for a full refund, no questions asked.

Do you build a custom feed, or use what I already have?

We use the feed you already send to Merchant Center. There is nothing new to build, and no separate export just for us.

Is there a limit on how many shops I can add?

No. Pricing is per shop with an automatic volume discount from five shops, calculated from your total. Adding more shops later just recalculates that total; it does not require a new agreement.

Who do I actually talk to if something needs fixing?

A real person on our side, not an anonymous ticket queue. Support, billing and cancellation are all handled from the same portal you use to add a shop.

Does the switch pause my ads while Google processes it?

No. Your ads keep running the entire time, under whichever CSS is currently submitting them, until the new one is confirmed. There is no gap in coverage.

Is my data shared with anyone new by switching?

No. A CSS only submits the ad your Merchant Center feed already builds; it does not see your website, your customers or any data beyond what Merchant Center already exposes to any authorised party.

Does this work if I already run Performance Max, not just standard Shopping?

Yes. The bid-power effect applies to the Shopping portion of a PMax campaign specifically; the rest of the campaign runs exactly as before, because the switch happens in Merchant Center, not inside the campaign itself.
