Greece runs Greek-language Shopping feeds. The CSS saving is a routing change at the auction level, so your listings and pricing stay exactly as they are.
Shoppers type Greek letters
Greek is written in its own alphabet, and queries arrive in it. A feed whose titles are in English, or transliterated into Latin characters, matches almost nothing.
This is the single change that decides whether a Greek feed works at all. Descriptions can stay automatic; the titles cannot.
Greek inflects, and the accent marks are part of the word
Nouns and adjectives change ending with case and number, and the tonos matters. A machine-assembled title produces forms that are grammatical and unsearched.
Check that the accents survive the export as carefully as you check the alphabet.
One thing you do not have to solve
Greece uses the euro, so a shop already selling into the eurozone has no price list to build and no rate to maintain.
At 1.000 € a month in Shopping spend, up to 200 € is taken as margin before the auction. That is the part switching changes.
The shop systems here, and how they reach Merchant Center
The only technology-detection dataset with a full platform breakdown for Greece ranks WooCommerce far ahead of every other shop system, with Shopify and OpenCart a distant second and third; an independent count of active Shopify stores confirms a similar order of magnitude but does not itself compare platforms, so this should be read as a single-source ranking. WooCommerce connects to Google Merchant Center via the official Google for WooCommerce plugin, Shopify via the Google and YouTube sales channel, and OpenCart via third-party feed extensions, since it has no first-party integration.
Frequently asked
Can I run an English feed in Greece?
No, not usefully. Queries arrive in the Greek alphabet and Shopping matches the string.
Is Greece in the eurozone?
Yes.
What should I fix first?
Titles, in Greek characters with the accents intact.
How big is the Greek market?
Around 10.4 million people. Online retail has grown steadily and several categories remain lightly contested.
Do the islands change my shipping setup?
Yes. Delivery to the islands is not the delivery you quote for Athens, and Shopping shows the estimate before the click.
Do I need to touch my feed to make this work?
No. Whatever gets your catalogue into Merchant Center today keeps doing exactly that. A CSS sits one layer up: it changes who submits the bid, not how the feed gets there.
What if I want to leave after switching?
Cancel any time from your portal, with no minimum term and no exit fee. Inside the first 60 days you can also just ask for your money back, no explanation required.
Do I need a second feed just for this?
No. The same feed that already reaches Merchant Center is what a CSS submits from. One feed, one Merchant Center account, no duplicate setup.
Is my data shared with anyone new by switching?
No. A CSS only submits the ad your Merchant Center feed already builds; it does not see your website, your customers or any data beyond what Merchant Center already exposes to any authorised party.
Is there a limit on how many shops I can add?
No. Pricing is per shop with an automatic volume discount from five shops, calculated from your total. Adding more shops later just recalculates that total; it does not require a new agreement.
Who do I actually talk to if something needs fixing?
A real person on our side, not an anonymous ticket queue. Support, billing and cancellation are all handled from the same portal you use to add a shop.
Does the switch pause my ads while Google processes it?
No. Your ads keep running the entire time, under whichever CSS is currently submitting them, until the new one is confirmed. There is no gap in coverage.
Does this work if I already run Performance Max, not just standard Shopping?
Yes. The bid-power effect applies to the Shopping portion of a PMax campaign specifically; the rest of the campaign runs exactly as before, because the switch happens in Merchant Center, not inside the campaign itself.
