Available now. Google Shopping and the CSS programme are live in Switzerland, and you can be running through The CSS Partner within 24 hours.

Switzerland sits outside the EU and EEA, and CSS is available here. German is the primary commerce language, and your spend and saving are in Swiss francs.

Outside both the EU and the EEA

Switzerland is in neither, so goods clear Swiss customs and VAT follows Swiss rules. It is the most administratively separate market we sell into.

The registration thresholds for foreign sellers change from time to time. Confirm the current position before launch rather than after.

German, French and Italian, by region

Most of the country reads German, the west reads French and Ticino reads Italian. If you already sell into Germany, France or Italy, you own the words for part of Switzerland already.

Swiss German differs from German German in written product vocabulary in places, so give a reused German feed a review pass.

Francs, and buyers who are less price-led than the average

Prices are in Swiss francs and the franc is strong. Purchasing power per head is among the highest in Europe, and delivery reliability tends to matter more than the last few percent on price.

Put the real delivery promise in the feed. Shopping shows it before the click.

The currency question answers itself here

Switzerland is not in the euro, but the programme still bills in euro, the same currency shown on every non-Danish page: a Swiss franc price list would need updating every time the rate moved, a euro one does not. Switzerland is also not covered by the EU ruling that forces equal CSS access elsewhere; the programme runs here because Google chose to extend it, not because a regulator required it.

Frequently asked

Is Switzerland in the EU?

No, and not in the EEA either. Customs and VAT follow Swiss rules.

Which language should the feed be in?

German covers the largest share, with French for the west and Italian for Ticino.

Which currency do I price in?

The Swiss franc.

Is Switzerland worth the administrative work?

Around nine million people with the highest purchasing power on this list. The paperwork is real and so is the basket size.

Does my German or French setup cover Switzerland?

The language does, after a review pass. The currency, customs and VAT do not.

Is this a new integration I have to build?

No. There is nothing to build. Whatever already pushes your catalogue into Merchant Center keeps running unchanged; the switch itself is one approval, not a new connection.

Does trying this cost anything if it does not work out?

Not if you decide within 60 days: full refund, no questions. Outside that window there is still no lock-in, just monthly billing you can stop from your portal.

Do I need a second feed just for this?

No. The same feed that already reaches Merchant Center is what a CSS submits from. One feed, one Merchant Center account, no duplicate setup.

Is my data shared with anyone new by switching?

No. A CSS only submits the ad your Merchant Center feed already builds; it does not see your website, your customers or any data beyond what Merchant Center already exposes to any authorised party.

Is there a limit on how many shops I can add?

No. Pricing is per shop with an automatic volume discount from five shops, calculated from your total. Adding more shops later just recalculates that total; it does not require a new agreement.

Who do I actually talk to if something needs fixing?

A real person on our side, not an anonymous ticket queue. Support, billing and cancellation are all handled from the same portal you use to add a shop.

Does the switch pause my ads while Google processes it?

No. Your ads keep running the entire time, under whichever CSS is currently submitting them, until the new one is confirmed. There is no gap in coverage.

Does this work if I already run Performance Max, not just standard Shopping?

Yes. The bid-power effect applies to the Shopping portion of a PMax campaign specifically; the rest of the campaign runs exactly as before, because the switch happens in Merchant Center, not inside the campaign itself.
